R&R Heater core on 1988 Grand Marquis Can't Post

I am a heavy equipment master mechanic but I am not a car expert. I need to either change or remove and resolder the heater cor in my 1988 Grand Marquis w/5.0 v8 & A/C. Is the removal of the whole dash needed?
Any tips or shortcuts ( buy a new car is not acceptable) would be greatly appreciated. THANKS. Maybe I could return the favor if you have crane or excavator questions.

That is published info and takes some scrolling to get to your exact questions with the procedures. At the age stuff can be brittle and break so try to avoid that. Most could be fixed if broken with that glue known as "Goop" ..

Dig out all your little 1/4" tools and have at it. It's worth doing if the car is in good overall shape as it should be cheap but take some time,
