Siemens / Blower Motor Warranty - LLT PM251 $29.99
Hey Mom! Stick around and we'll blow this kid's mind! It's probably the blower motor (see above) but tell him he'll need a "circuit tester" and for $3.96 at WalMart it won't bust his allowance to check that current is getting to it. If it has power then tell him to whack the body of the motor moderately with a hammer or the plastic handle of a screwdriver when blower should be on and if it comes on it needs the blower. If there's no power there then we need to find out why not. It probably uses both a fuse and a relay. Same circuit tester can figure that out.
Keep it a secret that you know all about the problem and how to fix it. If he's a real MAN he can handle it!
Now tell him to get testing. This is a doable job and for little money can at least rule in or out the blower motor itself.
Baffle him with some techno babble "It's unlikely that it's the control head or the fan speed selector switch itself at this point. There is a resistor for fan speed that usually defaults to just high fan speed so that's not the most likely right now. So get testing son!" - Or tell him you'll do it yourself if he can't handle it!
You are at the right site!
