I put an egg into the radiator of my 1996 honda accord 4cyl. to temporarily fix a hole. After about two days my heater wouldnt get hot anymore. The temp. guage still reads correctly.

You did WHAT????

I have never heard of this before....first thing that came to mind was....hard boiled,scrambled,poached...lol..
ok...enough of that..
why do this...I personally think that if you are going to use a sealer,use one that stays suspended,meaning it will only seek out and seal the leak and not clog anything....

IF the egg trick does work, hmm... then I think if it can stop a hole/leak in a radiator then it can clog a heater core....
Since you have a leak, have you checked the coolant level ?...
Low level,no heat....
check to see if upper radiator hose gets hot after running engine to operating temperature,...check to see if both hoses are hot going into and coming from the heater core.....if only one is hot,clogged core....
How big is this hole/leak?...significant leak= pressure loss.cooling system cannot function correctly...

An egg? I've heard of using pepper , but its never a good idea to put food in a radiator, like Jim said clogged heater core, need to back flush system. And if leak isn't to big try BARRs STOP LEAK always seem to do the trick for me

Here we go again. Another Martha Stewart type trick for everything. Does that work - YES. Will it flush out now so you can fix the problem - no so fast! Pepper and the right sawdust will work for a while but also will flush out.

Not sure what will disolve this or help to flush it out. I'm inclined to suggest automatic dishwasher soap that claims to eat food waste but if flow has stopped completely I don't think anything is going to work,
