My 97 Chevy 1500 pickup is very hard to get of park can anybody help?

Is it parked on a hill? If it is you'll need something to give it a little push in the opposite direction of the incline to take the weight of the vehicle off of the transmission. In the future you should use your parking brake so it doesn't rest on the transmission alone. Hope this helps
