So I washed underneath my hood to clean off some dirt and stuff and now my f-150 is rattling and suddenly is running really loud. When i am going really slow it shakes pretty good. I also have a nice sounding exhaust on it and now its even louder and snappyer. What got wet that wasn't suppost too. I tried avoiding doing it too much but i guess i just got it too wet. I drive a 1999 F-150. if anyone can tell me what happened I can then fix it. I bet it will go away as it dries up but If I knew what it was maybe I could dry it up faster. It has been 24 hrs since the washing and it still is doing this.

Rattling and loud suggest a hot exhaust part cracked. EGRs get hot too - gotta look harder for where the noise is coming from,

Another thing you should check is the spark plug tubes. Those are good for holding water if you washed the motor. It usually sets a misfire code P030X & turns on the SES light.
