thats kinda a big leap to automatically assume its the FPR. is it possible yes. but i would try to do a little more diagnostic before you throw parts at it.

check charging/starting system.
last tune up?

Charging and starter seems fine, just changed plugs.
What idiot thought it was a good idea to put one behind the steering column? I will change out the cap and rotor next. I just got this S10 from my kid.
Any other thoughts?

guest: You don't like the plug locations on that you are in for a treat with lots of other cars! Can't you get the one by steering column thru the wheel well?

That's what I did, I actually put the socket on the plug, cut a 3/4 open end wrench in half to fit in the small area and torqued it that way.

It's off your topic but it's amazing how many different configurations of the same size things you end up with in this biz/1 Flare nut crow's foot sockets, wobble head extentions, obstruction tools up the kazoo and none cheap. Sounds like you made a stubby open end wrench to go on a 5/8th end of a plug socket. They make those too just for the dastardly places things get put!

I would just like to meet that engineer, just once. Any thoughts on my original problem?
