I drove my car today and my temp gauge went up, smoke and steam went out from under hood. When I checked under hood, coolant was squirting outfrom it's container. What do I do? Is it in need of radiator fluid or...? I know nothing about cars and need help

You need to have it towed to a repair shop. The system needs checked to be sure exactly where the leak occured. If it got too hot, you may have more damage than just the cooling system. It also needs to be properly tested to be sure the cooling system will work properly. If you are sure it is leaking from the radiator, you may be able to replace it yourself. My first statement was related to your admittance of lack of mechanical knowledge. Let us know.
