I AM GOING TO CHANGE BRAKE PADS ON MY 1999 GRAND PRIX GT THIS HAS ABS BRAKES ARE THERE ANY SPECIAL PROCEDURES I NEED TO USE BECAUSE OF ABS. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME.
The service procedures do call for you to pump the brake pedal about 40 times with the key off to discharge brake pressure before you remove the calipers. This is to make the caliper pistons push back into their bore easier. After you do the job you have to pump the brakes until you get a firm pedal. Start the vehicle and let the ABS pump run to build the pressures back up. The vehicle is OK to drive after that.
