98 CHEVY CORSICA SHUT DOWN (PLEASE HELP) Quote | Reply

I just registered on the Car Junky site because a day before yesterday my accelerator was look and at times would stagger. In addition the locks on the car doors kept flickering not fully locking and unclocking just clicking. (I DO NOT HAVE A CAR ALARM)...

Yesterday the car stauled and you can turn the key as if it is going to start but it does not turn all the way over. My ABS light came on.

I called the mechanic and he said it could be the computer and is currently looking at it. Does this mean i need to get another car.

i have no idea what your trying to describe there.

with the door locks and the car not starting it seems to point to electrical issues. possibly a loose battery terminal or weak battery.

does the car make any engine noise when you try to start???

the abs light is probably not related at this point or it could be the computer going through its diagnostic tests and the weak battery is not letting it complete the test

Let me try this.

I was trying to describe the issues prior to the car shutting down.

items that occured before the car stauled
  • the door locks were clicking as if they were trying to lock
  • the ABS light came on and off
  • the gas peddle when pressed at times did not ignite

I was wondering if it could be a computer issue or something. My car does not have a alarm system, and the mechanic that I talked to stated it sounds like a computer issues. I wanted to know what you think.
Kind Regards
