engine knock Can't Post

I have a 1996 Mustang with a V6 in it. The motor started to tick very faintly then increased to a loud knock that comes and goes it is not constant. I am not losing oil pressure or using any oil, the motor is not smoking and does not seem to have lost any power. I removed all lifters and inspected them re-installed changed oil added rislone.Motor still does same thing. I also noticed when engine is running that the rockers on the passenger side move up and down independantly where as the rockers on the drivers side don"t. Two rockers that are side by side but on different cylinders go up and down exactly together. Can someone help? thanks

What type of oil are you running? Also do you race the car at all.

Normally a tick starts when you let the oil go to long and ithe oil starts to break down.

Also what oil weight are you using.

I am running amsoils Extended Life 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil (XLF)
in my car that has 205k miles, use to tick a lot but has quieted down.

I'm confused about your notation of the rocker arms being different???? Camshafts can break or wear but you would have a real lousy running engine or not at all. Sometimes a serpine belt can make wild noises and if you spray it with a little WD-40 and problem goes away that might be it. New belt is in order if the case.

I wouldn't wait too long with this as it's hard to figure out or explain noises by keyboard/computer where the right tech may know the sound if they hear it for themselves. Good luck, Hope it's something minor, - T
