Hi, i have a Mitsubishi Galant gdi engine 1998 model, automatic transmission. The car is jerking at constant speed when driving and the check engine light is on. I tried to diagnose the car myself and i got code 56. Can u please help me find out what the problem may be. Thankyou.

if you got the code by counting flashes, i think you missed the first couple digits.

Is there a possibility thye car needs a tune up? If plugs or wires are old, they can breakdown under a light load condition.
