2.2 engine-gave trouble code for egr valve - replaced and replace cracked hose
and still allmost dies at idle when radiator fan comes on

No other codes stored?

Anytime a "load" is put on the engine , in this case the cooling fan coming on,the Idle air control is supposed to adjust the idle accordingly...PCM controlled...
Same way if the a/c compressor is switched on...etc...
I would think there is a problem in the Idle air control circuit
