93 Chevy Suburban-Trouble starting then smoke... Can't Post

I have a 93 Chevy Suburban, and sometimes it does not like to start, and other times it starts right up. It recently has had a new battery and I just had the fuel injectors cleaned with BG, and there is no vacuum leak. What happens when I try to start it is it acts like it starts for a split second and then dies... At this point I have to feed it lots of gas to get it to turn over while cranking on it. It has always started for me this way. Once it does start however it puts out lots of gray smoke for a few seconds and idles pretty rough, but after a few seconds it is fine. I am planning on changing the fuel filter this afternoon. Anybody got any ideas??? To me it sounds like the problem is in the fuel system somewhere.

pull the plugs and see what they look look like.

my first step would be to make sure the throttle body & IAC valve is nice and clean. with the emissions recirculating back into the intake these components can get pretty gummed up with oily carbon residue.

the smoke after start up is probably just do to flooding the engine since you have to feather the pedal to keep it running.

Thanks for the reply. I changed the spark plugs and the fuel filer and have not had anymore problems with it. Although I can't say which one fixed it either since I changed them both at the same time. Either way it was a great fix for $25. Appreciate the help.
