Impressive as always Dan! 96Jimmy - keep your reciepts as this circuit board was recalled on at least the 96 Suburban but the problem was mostly that wipers plain quit intermittently. Have a vin # ready and call a dealer. Most safety items are non expiring recalls but they may not apply to this. That Suburban was my Mom's - would almost never fail in front of me for long. I'd just touch it and it worked for a week or two so then what do you do?
It was too serious to ignore so I told her all I could think of was just start tossing stuff out till it didn't do it again. Threw the whole wiper motor out 1st and it never did it again. GM reimbursed her for the whole job over a year later with a written recall notice. I had to scurry to find out how much I paid for the part and how long I spent. I never make out reciepts for family! Good luck with the fix - T

Important item for many. I owned a car that didn't have them from new! 1961 Olds F-85. Where I live with sand and salt used in the winter there were times you'd have to pull over to clear windshield. I did install them totally aftermarket except for nozzles which fit from a junk car and just wired it up to a switch.
Good to get this fixed if you live in a snow belt now before it's a real problem.
