I have a problem on my 88 chevy 1500, i'm guessing its a short somewhere. I have no dash lights, running and tail lights. The headlights, brake lights, and all the turn signals work. It keeps blowing the park lamp fuse. Everytime I put one in it blows. Not sure if this related or not. A couple of months ago when I turned my headlights on, it would take a couple of seconds for the inside light to come on(assuming running lights too). It seemed to take longer and longer for them to come on. Now there's nothing, and it keeps blowing fuses.
So far I checked the trailer wiring harness, by bypassing it. Still blew. Then I discounted the rear lights all together, still blew.
I took out the headlight switch, thinking something might be wrong in there. With the switch not even connected it blew a fuse.
I pulled my cd player out, and checked the wiring, looked fine. Fuse blew with it not even connected.
Not sure where to go from here. I would think if there was a short in the lights, it would only blow when you turn them on. I've searched on here, and couldn't find anything similar. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
