after reading this whole thread i see two possible solutions if you have the code and you enter it and it still doesn't work. 1. disconnect the power from the back of the radio. (momentarily, i assume) 2. turn the key on with dash lights on and disconnect the battery for about 15 minutes.
#1 doesn't really make sense because the battery power was obviuosly interrupted to get the flashing CODE. #2 for similar reasons unless those dash lights have something to do with it.
I was looking for a good excuse to buy an Alpine anyway.
okay I have read all these threads and I still don't know what I need to do. I have left the key on the first position with the word code on the radio for about an hour and tried to enter the code and it didn't work. I then turned the car completely off and disconnected the battery for about 15 minutes put everything back together tried entering the code again and nothing. I know the code is correct because I got it from the dealer, it's 5 digits but it is still not working. Any suggestions? please help
You know why the highest number in any radio code is a "6", is because thats the highest numbered button on the radio. To enter a code of 64313, you have to press the six, then the four, then the three and so on. Each button only gets pressed one time. I have heard of people attempting to press the "1" button six times, then press the "2" button four times, then pressing the "3" button three times, and so on, to enter their code. That only locks up the radio!
Did you ever find a solution. I had the same problem, and the only one that worked for me was from ABQ Guest. You turn the ignition key to position 2, then disconnect the battery. Wait an hour, reconnect the battery and try the code again. This worked for me when all other methods failed. I also verified that I had the correct code from the dealer (they could not fix either).
I see a lot of guys are having problems with there radios, well so am i..i have a 2002 330xi and the other day all the lights in my car went dead while i was driving, i checked the fuse and it was good, few min. later all the lights started working again.when i went to start the car it wouldent start, i checked the battery and it was no good so i went and replaced it, after i did that my radio wont work, the radio powers up its not asking for any code, it only catches one AM station, and it wont expect any cd.......HELP
I also have had the problem with the code. I am now going to try unhooking the power from the back of the radio. I did unhook the entire car, but that did not work.
Also, do you know anything about the outside temp on the bmw 325i. It will not change from -34F
