'01 Taurus Belt Squeal Can't Post

I'm sure this has been answered ad nauseum, but it just rained here a couple of days ago, and I had to drive through a bit of standing water. Well, my belt started to squeal after that and hasn't stopped since (just a steady squeal that only goes away if the engine is revved up over 3k rmp) I'm quite sure that the noise is coming from the belt area, and was caused by all the water from a couple of days ago. I'm thinking of getting some belt lube (or whatever the hell it's called). Any other ideas?

I recommend replacement of the belt instead of the belt dressing. Ther dressing can get in the pulley grooves and cause other squeals and noises. The water probably glazed the belt and is causing the noise. Also check the idler and tensioner pulleys.
