I recently replace an engine in a 98 Gmc Jimmy 4x4. Cannot get a spark at all. I put a scanner on it and it came up that the problem was the crank sensor. I then replaced it and still no spark and scanner is still sayin the same thing....Please, any suggestions would be appreciated. I have checked everything.

Was the replacement engine the same year & size as the one you removed?

Shouldn't really matter but there are 2 different ones so if you could post the 8 digit of the vin would be helpful. Check ECM 1 fuse, its a 15a, in block under the hood, wouldn't hurt to check all of them, under the hood and dash. If the fuse is good make sure you have power on one of the terminals @ the ckp sensor connecter with the key on. also make sure all the connecters are hook up good & tight at the control module........

It's also pretty easy to bend the pins in the plug when inserting it. If you struggled to get the plug to lock, look inside the sensor for bent pins. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
