Hello and thanks for your help.

I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Big Horn. Truck has a 4.7 V8 with just under 62,000 miles. This truck used to get 16 to 17 mpg and now it is in the 14 to 15 mpg range. It has the onboard average fuel economy readout. I can drive the truck for days without the readout changing once. It seems at times when the truck struggles to find the correct gear. Tonight the tach was about 2200 rpm at 55 mph. Usually the tack is about 1600 at this speed. My idle rpm was up to about 1500...way too high. Also the transmission upshifts and downshifts a lot on its own.

Two weeks ago the truck died on me after pulling out onto the highway. Luckily I was nearly home and coasted into my driveway. After a few attempts, the engine started just fine.

So basically I have 3 things that seem to be linked together in one problem. Poor gas mileage, erratic throttle at any speed, and the transmission upshifting and downshifting incorrectly.

It just seems like the throttle and transmission are having a tough time getting coordinated.

Thanks again...hope someone can help.

Pull codes. Too many changes in its behavior and might be just one item or connection,
