I have a 2006 dodge sprinter 3500 with a Mercedes Benz 5 cyl diesel cid 164.Is there any special procedures to follow when changing the fuel filter. Looks like an element rather than the canister type filter

Just fill the filter with fuel before installing. The hardest part of the whole job is bleeding it to get it started again.
