I need to replace the fuel pump in my 1990 GMC p/u, but I can't get the gas tank to drop down. Please help.

The way we do it is to remove the bed. There are either 6 or 8 bolts that hold the bed to frame. Remove these, unplug wiring at rear of frame, remove filler neck and get a buddy to help slide the bed back far enough to remove the pump assembly.
