5.4 Triton engine
110K miles

Hello experts! Thanks for any advice you can give.
I spent about 3,000 on my 2k expedition for work on suspension (basically some of the rods were almost rusted through-"1 big pot hole away from loosing the rear end), brakes, and some tires. I thought that would get me back on track and safe for road trips.

After about a week I felt some "rattling" during the acceleration. I took it in again and was told I need a transer case replacement- about $1400. Difficult decision to put the money in since I already dropped $3K or cut my losses.

I know its impossible to evaluate my car via internet, but does anyone have an opinion on my make and model ford? Is this the time in my cars life to replace. Should I cut my losses and get a different vehicle???

thanks for your input,

coach

coach - how bad was this pot hole incident? Not sure how that would damage transfer case unless it hit it! I suggest a second opinion of what the real trouble is,
