Sudden Issue with Lights & other stuff.. help Sign In

I believe it is a 1984 chevy silverado pickup truck that we have.Maybe a C20. Not too sure... Everything was going fine, then suddenly, my headlights went out.. And my radio went out, dome lights, and tail lights... all went out. My blinkers and my brake lights work fine.
I checked the fuses... or at least the ones I know where they are. My car didnt come with a book, and I am not too internet savvy yet, so I dont know exactly where I could find maybe a diagram of where the fuses or relay's, if there are any, and what each one is for... But I checked the ones I found and all the fuses are fine.
My headlights came back on for about 2 seconds the other day and then went back out again. and have not come on since.
So if anyone has any suggestions as to what I should check next, I would appreciate your help and if someone can maybe guide me in the right direction as to where I can find the location and diagram of the fuses/relays for my truck... it would mean the world to me.. thank you so much. & please... LOL

Did you check to see if you had power at those fuses?

I looked at all the fuses, and I didnt see one for Headlight. Is there only one fuse box? Are there any fuses or relay's under the hood or anything?? I am a girl, but I know about some cars... but this one is new to me and I have no idea much about it. So the only fuses I found were under the dash. Are those the only ones?? lol .. sorry.. I do appreciate your help...

You need to check your fusible links which are at the starter. They are small sections of wire that are designed to melt away. Pull on each one and see if any stretch. If any are bad DO NOT use regular wire to repair. Fuse wire can be purchased at the parts store.

Just the question: Is this truck basically a rust bucket? If so and still serviceable in general you've probably lost a key ground strap for multiple problems all at once. Look around for broken ones or ones where bolts rotted right out of metal left dangling,

No its not a rust bucket. Its in pretty good shape.
Still havent gotten the lights to work yet. And I just now realized that my horn does not work either.
Checked the fuses. No fuse for the headlights.
Under the hood there is a little panel that had lots of wires going in and out of it. I unscrewed it and it has lots of metal contacts underneath it.
Checkthe the wires. The ones that are going in to the box are live. The ones coming out of it are dead. Does that mean anything?

And you still haven't checked the fusible links as I suggested.
