Hello I have a 2002 dodge durango with a bad rear I want to swap it out with another one. My ? Is which is easier to do pull the axles and backing plates to get the rear out. Or drop the leaf springs in the back by the shackles.

Why are those your only choices?

If there's other ways of getting the rear out any info on that would be greatly appreciated.

What's stopping you from sliding it through the springs?

Don't think the backing plate will clear in between the wheel well and the springs

Re: Rear swap Sign In

I never had one that didn't but if you have to you can drop one shackle.

The spring placement is inward of the wheel well so the differential should be able to be lifted over the spring after clearing the wheel well.
