REAR WINDOW 1989 FORD BRONCO Sign In

MY WINDOW MOTORS ARE ALL BURNED OUT IN MY 1989 FORD BRONCO. THE REAR WINDOW NEEDS TO COME DOWN SO THAT I CAN DROP THE TAIL GATE AND ACCESS THE TAIL LIGHT COVERS AND REPLACE THEM. I NEED TO KNOW IF THERE IS AN EASY WAY TO GET THE REAR WINDOW TO COME DOWN. I HAVE REMOVED THE PANEL ON THE TAIL GATE AND IT LOOKS STUPIDLY TIGHT IN THERE. IS THERE SOME SUPER SECRET MEMBERS ONLY WAY OF DOING THIS THAT MECHANICS WONT TELL? OR IS THIS JUST A REALLY BAD DESIGN FLAW THAT MAKES IT AS HARD AS IT LOOKS? I AM GRATEFUL FOR ANY HELP.

Nope, I'm afraid there is no secret way to do that. That window is not going to come dowm unless it is disconnected from the regulator or you get the motor to operate.

All motors are burned out?! Are you sure and how did you determine that? If you have the panel off of rear gate and window if you can see body of motor at all and the plug to it that's a good start. Test for reversing positive and negative power on the (should be) two wire plug while unplugged to the motor.

If that tests OK then try to rap on the body of the motor with a socket extension or whatever and it may move again for you. If no power it probably isn't anything to do with the motor itself,
