It's a 1997 1500 Chevy 4.3 lit when started it idled 3300 rpm takes a longtime to come to base idle also going down the road you put the clutchin it comes back to 3300 rpm you have to turn key. Off and restart it

check for codes especially if the CEL is off.
post ALL codes someone will advise.
Might want to look for a vacuum leak.
Unlikely but an easy ck be sure linkage is free and not binding.
