My 1995 Chevy C1500 4.3L will not start. It cranks and plugs are getting fire but no turn over. Fuel pump purrs for about 3 seconds then quits.

Try priming throttle body and if you get temporary run there's a fuel issue to chase down. GM are famous for fuel issues,

The GM Vortec engines must have 55psi fuel pressure to run. Check the fuel pressure.

Except this is a "Z" motor, not a Vortec spec is 9-13lbs

Whoa; You must have ESP. If it is a Z, yes you are correct, but both W and Z were available in that year, make, and model. The W's are much more common, at least out here.Wink

No, they were not available in the 1500.
All TBIs, even the 5.7

You can disagree if you want but here's what's was available in that truck. I know you have never seen the old style Vortec in anything but the Blazer or S10.

Re: C1500 will not start Sign In

Chill out all. The exceptions are out there not listed even in paid for data. I know of many exceptions - usually vehicles made for non USA destinations.

If you have the clout you can request non available stuff with ordered vehicles. I've personally seen several exceptions. Fords with electronic seats with memory for driver 1 or driver 2 in the 50s, electronic ignitions starting in '66 and so forth.

Piece!

Tom
