Sign In 2003 Mazda B3000 4.9 ,clutch went to the floor with zero pressure but returned to top normally, replaced slave cyli nder {without pre-filling},bled system many times and now have some pressure but still won't go in gear except when not running.Also spring on new slave about an inch taller than old one but I used it. Sign In Be certain that the master cylinder is completely bled of air. Note where the bleeder is located on the slave. I've had to remove the slave and hold it so that the bleeder is higher than the slave while gravity bleeding. I'm not sure what spring you were referring to? Sign In Thanks for your response!The spring wraps around the plastic cylinder shaped part and is covered by a rubber boot.I actually drove truck today but not going in gear as easy as before with reverse being the worst and not the pedal resistance as before.The SPRING has one more full coil than the old one which made using the old boot difficult. If this system lost all or most of the fluid than the master cylinder has air in it too. These set ups are problematic about air in the master cylinder. You will need to remove it a bleed it on the bench. Here is what to do. Hold the reservoir above the rest of the master cylinder. I usually clam it in a vise. Then hold the master cylinder with the push rod that atatches to the clutch pedal pointed to the floor. Now at the end of the line that connects to the slave cylinder gently push the center of it in until fluid runs out. Do this several times without letting the reservoir run dry. This is always needed and dose the trick for me.
