Tried to fix your post to attract more attention. You left the discussion box empty - all is cool - each site works differently. OK: Early 80s were the end of carbs as they were a total headache right from new. Especialy the VV "variable venturi" ones and folks switched them out in an effort to get a good dependable running vehihcle. Get some part #s off the carb you have and a parts outlet should be able to help. Changing anything OE is tricky at best and near impossible when much newer that this, T PS: What carb is on it now?

Bigmom; If this is Federal emissions, the carb should be a 2150 Motorcraft 2bbl. If California emissions, the carb should be a 7200VV Motorcraft 2bbl. which would be the infamous variable venturi piece of junk. Edelbrock makes a very nice 'replacement' carb for either applications, much better than OE, IMO. Loren SW Washington

We were just talking about those things, today. A Toyota came in with one. As far as I knew, the Fords only put them on vehicles that were 'destined' for sale in CA. Interesting. I think Toyota only used them one year, maybe two. About the same for Ford, if I remember. Our Snap-On dealer would rebuild those things for $150.00 (30yrs ago). What in the hell were they thinking? LOL. Loren SW Washington
