I have a 2001 Dodge full size pick up. I,m getting only 12 miles to gal of gas. Someone told me that the low fuel mileage do to the catalytic converer. Is this true?

That really isn't that low for a full size pick up around town.

Other people that I talk to are geting 17 MPG

Not according to the EPA ratings for that vehicle
