1993 Ford Ford Ranger 4x4 with 4.0. Started up fine, went 3 blocks (hot day with AC on high), shut it down, then started it back up just fine after a few minutes in the stores. Went back to the car pool parking lot and shut it down for 30 minutes. When I tried to fire it up, it would fire up some RPM's for a second or two and then just starter grind. I tried to restart for 15 minutes and finally gave up. Got a ride home and let it cool down for a few hours (thinking vapor lock). When I came back that evening, it started up first time. That weekend I put new wires, plugs, fuel filter, oil, oil filter, air filter etc. Didn't see the problem again UNTIL yesterday. I drove only 5 miles, shut it down to get gas. Wouldn't start. This time, instead of flooding it. I opened the hood and let it cool. Checked wires etc and it looked fine. After 15 or so minutes it started. I was told to listen for the fuel pump (will do next time). Perhaps a ground problem on the tank? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jeff-

UPDATE: I swapped out a new fuel pump relay under hood. No change as of yet. Monitoring.
