HI I have @1987 dodge power ram 318ci 4x4 auto trans. the problem I am having is, it was runing fine turned it off one day, with out any problems went to drive it ,but it would not start. I did all the normal things, such as check all the wireing, making sure there was nothing lose. check the battery, starter, alt, all check out fine. Here is the kicker, I can turn the key on and jump it from the starter and it will start. then I can turn it off wiyh the key. SO PLEASE HELP

Ok: Not the sites Mopar guy but here's what I just found.

It's likely and do test the the smaller wire isn't getting current from key request at the starter. Bet it doesn't. In the course of looking I found this uses another relay between key/ign and the trigger power for the starter. It should look like this.......

Now somewhere in that you should or I hope get a test light to light with start request and it doesn't relay (pun intended) the power on to the starter's smaller wire which is what you did right at the starter that works. Hopefully a connection here or the device is the problem and not more. At the age those spade type connections could easily be the problem and a clean up would be the fix or test (we are working the test light hard) where power is and isn't when key is turned to start and go from there.

So far I think that's all this is,
