I am considering purchasing a 1981 Suzuki GS850 cruiser. It has a pretty bad oil leak but supposedly it was taken off the road when the leak was noticed and thus engine damage from lack of lubrication should be limited. Also, there is no smoke or strange smell when it starts. There is a valve cover gasket does have to be replaced however and I am wondering what the approximate cost may be to do this? I don't want to end up sinking a bunch of money on engine repairs right off the bat. Any advice would be appreciated.
