ignition problems on a 2004 chevy suburban Login - Sign Up

I have a 2004 chevy suburban 1500.This morning i went out to start it,I put the key in the ignition and it will not turn.Imade sure it is in park but it will not turn.Does anyone have any sugestions on what to do.

Could be a worn key. Do you have a spare key? Could also be the tumbler. Are the wheels straight, or turned?
Try turning the steering wheel each direction while trying to turn the key. I know that the steering wheel won't actually 'turn', just relieve any pressure against the steering wheel locking mechanism.
