over the weekend i was called to look at a van that the belt had come off..upon inspection i noticed that there was a sufficient amount of snow turned to ice under the engine compartment....driver had driven thru 12 plus inches of snow to get out of his driveway...well the temperature dropped to low single digits that evening and snow pack turned to ice...when he was turning to go into a parking lot-a piece of ice must have came up threw the belt..heard a pop and then the steering became hard-said he almost hit another car....just wanted to share this story....hopefully it can be of some help...we're all guilty of being in a hurry.
