Ralph P. Albertini MARLBOROUGH Ralph P. Albertini of Marlborough died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Phillips House, Mass. General Hospital, Boston, in his 88th year. Born in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of the late Romolo and Theresa (Melotti) Albertini, and the husband of Elsie (Grosso) Albertini of Marlborough, to whom he had been married for the past 62 years. A graduate of Worcester Trade School, Class of 1939, Mr. Albertini served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and was stationed aboard the USS Sabik. He traveled internationally for more than 32 years for LaPointes Tool and Die Co., Hudson, where he was a member of the managerial department. Following his retirement in 1972, he began working for Morgan Construction, Worcester, where he traveled throughout the U.S. instructing companies in the proper use of machinery. For the past 12 years, he had been employed at Price Chopper, Marlborough, where he was highly respected b y his co-workers and will be greatly missed. His interests were varied and his talents many, but creating intricate stained glass items, which he generously shared with family and close friends, gave him great pleasure. Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Dr. Ralph S. Albertini and Kerry Murphy, of Thetford, Vt.; his daughter, Frieda Albertini Duffy and her husband, Dennis Duffy, of Lancaster; his grandsons, Patrick Albertini of Vermont and Eric Albertini of New Mexico; and his cocker spaniels, Fred and Cayman. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Jan. 10, at 10 a.m., at the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect Street, Marlborough. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wilson Street, Marlborough. Visiting hours are Friday, Jan. 9, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
