Craftsman sells a black nickel chrome tool set - only problem is it's only sold in Canada. Does anyone know why and can you recommend another brand but in the same black?

I believe Stanley makes it for craftsman if i'm not mistaken. You're better off getting regular chrome set, if they stop making them it will be hard to warranty.

Stanley may have made some in the past but here's who does it now.

Danaher Tool Group, a division of Danaher Corporation, recently appointed John Allenbach to expand his responsibilities from President of Delta Consolidated Industries to also serve as the President of the Professional Tool Division (PTD). In his role, John will be responsible for sales, marketing and distribution operations. He comes to the position well-grounded with a comprehensive industrial channel background resulting from a previous tenure with PTD when he served as Industrial Channel Vice President and General Manager from 1996 - 2003. John will oversee a broad portfolio of brands including: Armstrong® Industrial Tools, Craftsman®, Allen®, Jacobs®, K-D® Automotive Specialty Tools, Napa®, Holo-Krome®, GearWrench®, Delta® and Jobox®.

Danaher Tool Group is also pleased to announce the appointment of G. Michael Strickland to the position of Vice President of Sales, Professional Tool Division. In his role, Mike will be responsible for Armstrong, Craftsman, Allen, GearWrench, Holo-Krome and Jacobs tools sold through industrial distribution. Prior to joining Danaher, Mike held sales leadership positions serving multi-channel and industrial distribution for several major brands including: Dewalt®, Delta Machinery®, Moen®, Waterloo®, and Porter Cable®.

Danaher Tool Group, headquartered in Sparks, MD, is the world's largest manufacturer of ratchets, sockets and wrenches. Danaher Tool Group brands include Armstrong®, Allen®, Jacobs®, GearWrench®, Holo-Krome®, and K-D®.

From Wiki:

Quote
General hand tools have been made by a variety of manufacturers over the years including New Britain,[7] Moore Drop Forge,[8] Stanley,[9] Easco Hand Tools,[10] and most recently the Danaher Corporation[11] (wrenches, ratchets, and sockets) and Western Forge[12] (screwdrivers, pliers, and adjustable wrenches). Many newer tool designs are now imported, mostly from China. Craftsman-branded garage door openers are manufactured by The Chamberlain Group.[13]

CHINA!? Who would have ever figured?
