98 Ford Explorer Login - Sign Up

When starting my 98 Ford Explorer (4.0 L) and it's cold out, it sputters and wants to stall out. I have to keep giving it gas so it won't stall out. I've had it to several mechanics, and they can't figure it out. Has a new fuel pump.

Has anyone checked the Idle Air Control solenoid? Sounds like you might have one that is dirty and hanging up. There is a generic picture of one in the attachment below.
