Hello guys. I am currently living in CA and realize that I must have a car to fully appreciate America... Since I cannot stretch my budget more than $40000, I am thinking of buying used car made by BMW or Benz. Japanese cars were on my list since I have heard that german cars' durability is crazy compared to that of Japanese. However, I think I still like BMW and Benz more... So... as far as I have searched, I could buy cls500 2006 model with around $35000. Or I could even buy 6 series 2005 models... Would it be bad choice? I cannot actually confirm my decision since I still am afraid that I should pay hilariously much money to repair used car... Please share any opinions. Thank you all very much!

My opinion: If you are on a budget for a car then USED BMWs and Benzes are not for you. Not too many vehicles are more expensive to maintain or repair than those two. Take your time and consider an assortment of vehicles even new ones for less than that money can be very comfortable and dependable cars. Buy what you want but just price out routine work on high end cars vs more common and popular cars unless money is no object. Good luck and take your time if you can. Used anything I strongly suggest taking to get fully checked out for problems or an accident in it's history............ T

i agree with tom on this one. you have to think of the costs down the road and remember that some cars are simply more reliable and less expensive to maintain. to me, that's what's important. have you looked at any link deleted? these will give you a new car feel, but should be less to take care of. js
