Used 4.5 year old BMW versus a new Ford Fusion, or Opel, or ? Sign In

I need help. I have been driving a lease car for the past 4.5 years - a BMW 320d Touring, automatic (rare in Europe), airco, towball, diesel with 98,000 km. All four tires are new from December 06. It's been regularly serviced.

It's been a nice car to drive, fits my 1 year old son and all his gear into it, as well as the dogs, plus DH is happy it can pull the trailer to the dump - and I've been driving it from brand new, but I've left the company and need to turn the car in. The leasing company has given me an offer should I want to buy it of 15,515 euros (including sales tax) with a 1 year warrantee. Is this a good offer?

I've looked at brand new cars (and got a price for a Ford Fusion, diesel, airco, towball, standard/manual gear box, with a 3 year warrantee) for 200 euros less than the BMW, including sales tax.

What should I do? Should I buy the BMW or go for a new car of lesser "stature" like Ford, Opel, Citroen? Or look for a second hand car for even less? I want the car to be reliable, dependable, and last at least 10 - 15 years! Any educated advice would be most welcome.
