I just replaced the whole steering column with key and now it will not start up. When I try to start it I just get a blinking theft light. The key turns, it isn't locked or anything. Battery and starter are fine. Lights work. How do I fix this? Car has 192000 miles, is an automatic and has a 3.0. I don't have the fob. I do still have the previous steering column & key. Thank you for any help!

That's because you never programmed the new key. That's what the security system is for. You will need either a dealer level scan tool or a locksmith to get it programmed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
