I have a 2005 Saturn Ion. It has 32,800 miles on it. How often should the radiator be flushed?

Flushing isn't necessary unless the system has gotten sludged up. If it has Dexcool in it, I would replace that every 3 years and don't mix any green coolant in it.

Christy - what you are getting is new additives. The base EG never wears out. I personally hate Dexcool or AKA "DexSludge" - just change it out as suggested and you'll be fine. If you find 'junk' in the system you need to find out why. There could be electrolysis going on.

Containers are all marked. Just know any of them are deadly poison and don't try but taste sweet so don't leave any container available for an animal to drink especially. Proper disposal is going to vary by your location. -- T
