A minicar that GM originally designed for customers in Asia and Latin America is now getting serious consideration for the U.S. market. The model in review right now is the Chevrolet Beat, an 11.5-foot, two-door hatchback.
GM is really focused on reviewing its lineup to find ways to produce more fuel efficient cars. They plan on lauching 13 midsize or smaller cars and crossovers in the next 18 months. The automaker is producing fuel-efficient gas-electric hybrids, too, and it is working on ultra-clean hydrogen-powered cars for the future.
It is definetly going to be a rough ride for GM and all the other manufacturers that generated their profits from trucks and SUVs. Maybe its time mangement got rid of all their own rearview mirrors, and focus more on new headlights instead!!
