There are many different grades of code readers. Some are just generic code reader that will read only generic codes of the PCM, some will read both generic and factory codes of the PCM but a true professional scan tool will read and communicate with all modules in the vehicle. Some vehicles have 50-60 various modules.

A true factory or professional scan tool can cost over $50,000. Your choice is $22 so what do you think it can do?
