A first time at all with brakes? This isn't a good place to learn by mistakes and strongly suggest you do your first with VERY experienced help and proper tools.

Almost can forget machining or turning rotors as new isn't much more and lots better. Doesn't end there - learn to not push back pistons without pushing fluid back up to master cylinders as you are pushing dirty old fluid back thru ABS parts if nothing else not good for them and it's not new fluid that way.

Other: I don't suggest doing all four at once if at all possible. If and you need to know they are not worn uniformly on each side of an axle it may need more than just pads and rotors.

Learning is great - mistakes with brakes are not way to learn,

That special tool you need or the rear costs about $10,000 so i suggest you reconsider doing this yourself. You need a bidirectional scanner to release the electric parking brake.
