Advice on a Ford 24v 3.0 Taurus Sign In

I'm looking at possibly buying an '01 Ford Taurus with a 24v 3.0 engine. Car has 62k miles on it and appears to have been taken good care of. I however dont know
much about this engine. I know the standard 3.0 is almost bullet proof, my dad has had a couple of them. I have done alittle reading and learned a couple things. I know its got about 50 more hp than the standard Shocked (gotta be fun to drive). I understand its a bit more expensive to work on, OK I'll accept that. A former Ford dealership owner told me out on the highway it will get 30mpg and above 3000rpm it will flat SCREAM! He had nothing but positive feedback about it. I'm just looking for more feedback. I need to know if I can expect to get 200k out of it or should I keep looking.

Thanks

Hindsight showed the 3.0 to be the most dependable and simplest IMO.

24 valves! To me that's asking for headaches. If you love it and can afford it do as you wish. If it's good now and you care for it - it should take care of you. That wouldn't be a cheap engine to fix by like 10 times!
