My car needs a new brake master cylinder, but it wasn't manufactured with a few of its standered parts (like the tranny filter, it used the 92 model), unfortunatly, the brake master cylinder is one of them. It's not from any previous chrysler model or year. The paper showing it only had '1200 - Brake Master Cylinder w/ ABS'. The mechanic that looked at it said it'd cost me more than I paid for the car. That won't work, I need to know what it is, where can I get one cheap, and how to remove it. I've supplied a picture of it.

I really need this car, and I can't use it without brakes. I'm really tight on a budget too. So if you know any sites that'll sell it cheap, let me know.

That is the brake master that is combined with the accumulator for the ABS. I'm afraid your mechanic was right. This part can be very expensive if it's even still available.

That will not work on his car. He has an ABS accumulator.

Why would the accumulator have to be replaced? I wouldn't use a reman master, but I didn't read that he needed anything other than the master? sigh.

That's not what he has. On his car, the accumulator is the master, I believe.

Another one of Chrysler's brilliant ideas, right up there with the " Hey lets put the voltage regulator in the PCM " Come'on guys those NEVER go out, I can't see a downside to this, can you?Tongue

Is there a way to retro fit a different MC? Or does it absolutly need to be the same MC?

It needs to be the same. the whole system was engineered around it.
