1997 Mustang GT *Stuck Torque Converter* Login - Sign Up

I just bought a 1997 Mustang GT 4.6L SOHC. The guy that had the car before me locked up the motor, but had already done everything to pull the motor out besides taken out one bolt which was connecting the starter and trans. So when i got the motor finally out the torque converter was attach to the motor and It will not come off. No matter how much I pull, pry, or turn it will not come off. What can I use or do to get this converter off the old motor??

The torque converter is bolted to the flywheel. You sure as hell aren't going to pull it off.

The engine has to be rotated to access the rest of the bolts. If the motor is seized and won't turn, then you will have the remove the oil pan and unbolt the connecting rods to allow the crank to turn. The rods may still jam things up but you can always just remove the crank.

Make sure the extinguishers are fully charged first.

I call it my blue wrench (oxy/acet) one size fits all. It's a must have with rusted stuff around here,
