Save you time and money! Water does contain Hydrogen but extracting it takes more engergy then using the energy directly - always did, always will.
The deal would be if energy was wasted otherwise to make hydrogen with waste would be useful.
Example: You have a water turbine in a river in your back yard and can only use so much electricity but the water keeps flowing so you could make it into something you could transport and use later. Hydrogen would then be an interesting choice.
At the moment if you have an oversupply of electricity you can sell it back to the electric company (not all sources of electricity qualify) and use the money to buy gas!
