post locked   synthetic oil change ? ?

I bought a 2003 civic in good shape , it has mobile 1 synthetic oil in it , when it gets dark shouldn't it be changed ? Would it be O.K. to go with regular 5W 20 even though there's a chance it has always had synthetic as it is in very good shape and appears to have been taken care of ? Thanks .

Why not continue with the synthetic?

It doesn't cost much more because you double the intervals.

I use synthetic in all my vehicles.

They say you can go the 10K pretty easily. I usually go to 7 or 8.

It doesn't break down like regular oil.

Same mostly Doc. I use it in EVERYTHING + never a problem or knowing the first on older or back and forth it's compatible. I personally still do changes more often there are other things not to forget to check and do not just oil + filter it's cheap enough at WallyWorlds here sold in 5 Qt. large mouth bottle easy to recycle larger too. Save what you don't use in another container that is rated for motor oil and mark it you don't take the full 5 quarts.

Other on dirty oil: Was just brought up by another in person that a change made oil get dirty so fast? I said what is true - it has detergents to remove that and did if not it's still inside the engine! Think about that.

Do you want laundry waste water clean and clear if washing real dirty stuff? It didn't work then did it? Same idea.

I have switched back on one thing giving me fits didn't care as all claims make.

Best reason is it seriously tolerates heat well before sludging just may save you in a surprise. You wont notice but it cost nothing for the swap the engine will simply be better lubed and save friction waste seen as MPG not seen I notice manually pull starting (assorted machines I said) right away less effort - it works,

Tom
